    Evolution Internet Relay Chat (IRC) server, for communication about the game

    Evolution has an IRC server running for chat.

    If you already have an IRC client installed, clicking this link should take you directly to the main Evolution chat channel.

    • Server: irc.neondragon.net
    • Port: 6667

    Alternatively, you can download an IRC Client to connect.

    • Windows: mIRC
    • Any computer with a Mozilla (e.g. Firefox) web browser: Chatzilla
    • Any operating system: XChat

    If port 6667 is blocked, try with:

    • Server: gryphon.uk.irc.neondragon.net
    • Port: 8067

    For an encrypted (SSL) connection between you and neondragon.net, use:

    • Server: gryphon.uk.irc.neondragon.net
    • Port: 6697

     

    General IRC Rules:

    • Users of the IRC service may never behave in any way that can be deemed abusive to others. This includes, but is not limited to, racism, sexism, homophobic remarks and religious hatred. Breaking this rule may result in a permanent ban from IRC, and even the game itself. (see the Game Rules)
    • All rooms are the responsibility of the moderators for that room.
    • Alliance Rooms may be registered with chanserv, please contact Araldia and/or Ally of PLWT. No alliance rooms will be registered for dEvo alliances. Ad-Hoc rooms are allowed.
    • You should make sure you register your nickname with nickserv (see #irchelp for more information on this) to avoid being punished for anothers actions under your name.
    • Do not impersonate another chat user.
    • We request that you respect other users of IRC, by not flooding, spamming, advertising or talking in a manner that is hard to read.
    • No personally identifying information, including SURNAMES, EMAIL ADDRESS, HOME ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBERS etc should be given out in ANY chat room. If you wish to share these details, please think carefully and ONLY do it in a Private Chat.

    Specific Rooms and their rules:

    • #evo - This room is the main room for the game, and is the first room joined by most players. We therefore request that users do not discuss topics that may be inappropriate for children. Swearing in this room will not be tolerated. User scripts and bots are not allowed. #evo is a channel where English only may be spoken in conversations. Non-English Conversations should not be held here, the odd word, provided it does not interrupt the flow of chat, is allowed at the moderators discretion.
    • #evo.dev - This room is for any discussion relating to dEvo. Complaining about dEvo in #evo will result in a dEvo ban. Complaining about something in dEvo that is pretty obviously not just a random bug will result in a dEvo ban.
    • #chat - This room is uncensored, and players must take responsibility for their actions if they enter this room. Adult topics and language may be found in here. No personal attacks will be tolerated.
    • #chat.flameon - Room for taking your personal disputes out on each other. By entering this room, you agree that there are no ops, this room has no comeback on evolution or neondragon.net, and you enter at your own risk. Strong language and personal attacks may be carried out here ONLY. POSTING LOGS FROM THIS ROOM ON THE FORUMS=BAN

    To talk in foreign languages in the following rooms, you need to use a UTF-8 supported chat client. Examples of these are Chatzilla, X-Chat and IRSII. mIRC does not support UTF-8 and will result in the incorrect display of characters.

    • #evo.francais - Ce canal a été créé pour permettre aux joueurs d'evolution parlant français de discuter sur IRC

    • #ewolucja - has been created on the IRC server for polish speakers.
    • #evolucao - Este canal é criado pra permitir os jogadores quem falam portugûes para bater papo no IRC.
    • #evolutie - acest canal a fost creat pentru a permite vorbitorilor de limba romana sa poata comunica intre ei pe IRC
